Purpose is constructed

Purpose is not discovered, received, or inherited. The received narratives (Aristotelian teleology, religious purpose, evolutionary survive-and-reproduce) don't land. Purpose has to be made, one choice at a time, and only in dialogue with the admission that nothing cosmically gives you one.

Maybe that's the point — there is no point and that's okay... what's slowly starting to work for me is this: not needing everything to make sense. Letting go of the pressure to have a "purpose" and instead choosing small things that feel right... building meaning one choice at a time even if it doesn't come with a label.

2026-04-18-nothing-matters reinforces the anti-received-purpose side with a stronger statistical argument against intelligent design (given billions/trillions of combinations, Earth-as-hospitable-to-life is chance, not design). - Received purpose-narratives don't convince.
- Absurdity (Camus) is real — the cosmos is silent on purpose.
- But absurdity is liberating: nothing matters cosmically → you choose what matters.
