Nothing matters, we humans are nothing. There is a good amount of probability that humans life is an accident. Life itself on earth could just be an accident. Lack of purpose for human life makes us humans miserable. Human's desire for meaning of life led to the birth of religions.

People argue that how is it possible that everything in nature is so perfect. For example, Earth is the at a perfect distance from sun which makes the temperature on earth possible to live. It's not too cold or hot. We have the right amount of oxygen and soil. We argue that human body is so complex & perfect and that there has to be creator who designed it so perfectly. We argue that energy can neither be created nor be destroyed and that there has to be creator who created energy in the first place.

However.

What if all the statements above were the exact reason why life exists on earth? Earth had such perfect conditions which led to us being evolved as a species. I think that we evolved from atoms. Atoms that had perfect conditions.

What do I mean by perfect conditions? There would be billions and trillions of potential possibilities of combinations that have occurred in the universe. Atoms would be placed in different conditions and well one of those combinations led to life on earth. Earth itself is probably one in a billion planet that has occurred to be at the right place at the right time, which led to humanity.

There is a very good possibility that this might actually be the case for the existence of us humans but this is very miserable for most of us to believe.

And this is exactly why we love to live in delusion that there is a creator who is watching after us.

From the above theory, you could argue that if humanity came from atoms then where did atoms come from. There must be a creator who created atoms. Fair, but then who created the creator? and if the creator always existed then why can't the atoms? That's the paradox where most religious debates wobble around.

Even I don't know the answer to that but I don't want to fallback to religious scriptures just because I don't have an answer and religions don't have the answer either.

Another theory that fascinates me alot is that we are probably living in simulation. Let me give an example: Think a whatsapp message. A single message is request that flows from your device to receiver's device. The only job it has is to carry a bunch of text characters and that's all it knows. A message request has no consciousness of anything other the message route it takes. It does not know that there is world outside the phone. It's life starts the moment you hit send and ends the moment receiver receives it. Some live longer because they have more number of characters and some die right away. Although it has no consciousness like humans but if it did it would consider the message sender as its god.

Quite similarly we humans could have a more conscious life compared to a message. We have lifespans too. We have gods too.

There is a good possibility that we are already serving a purpose that we are not aware like a message.

Imagine you plant a tree to eat ripe fruits. When the tree grew the wood of the tree, the sun rays and everything aligned in a way that there is a beehive created on one of the branches of the tree. The tree has grown so big that the beehive is almost invisible compared to the size of the tree. The owner of the tree only cares about the fruits that tree grows which is the purpose of the tree. The beehive serves no purpose and is just something that has grown by accident. The bees born inside the beehive? There whole life will just revolve around that insignificant beehive, trying to survive, reproduce and then eventually die. That beehive could be Earth in the universe.

We also be completely insignificant with no greater purpose.

So three possibilities:

  • we could serve a purpose that we are unware of
  • we could be useless with no purpose at all
  • religions

my brain fuckng hurts
